Social Media today has changed the world in many different
ways, some can say for bad and others for good.
Two organizations that I would like to share with you today is
USA
Wrestling (www.themat.com/usawrestling.org)
and
flow wrestling (www.flowrestling.org).
Both of these programs use social media tools
like Twitter and Facebook and have many followers.

The main goal for both of these organizations is to build
the wrestling community followers and make people more aware of the sport
wrestling. Wrestling is a very unique
sport because of the physical and mental requirements that you need to have to participate. Wrestling is conducted at
many different levels from your youth level all the ways to the Olympics;
however it has no professional organization like the NFL for football and NBA
for basketball. Kids today get the
chance to watch these other sports on television which develops a
understanding of the technique and workings of the sport.
Wrestling on the other hand is known to be boring and uninteresting
because people do not have that understanding or the appreciation of the moves of the sport.

For example: when I watch a match and nobody is taking
people down I see the style and determination wrestlers put into their hand
fitting skills. I see arm drags, fakes, wrist
control, under hooks, 2 on ones, and so forth. If you are not familiar with wrestling you
will not notice any of these things because you are normally looking at people
and their accomplishments like football.
You may say that these people are just standing around stalling because
you do not notice the technique that is involved with each motion. I encourage you the next time you watch a
football game and see a defensive guy coming in to tackle the QB, watch their
feet and hands. Look at how they get by
people and not just if they get by there opponent, ask the question how and not just the results of
the play. This is what wrestling is all
about.

This is what Flow Wrestling is trying to
do. They try to promote the sport by
helping others learn the sport of wrestling.
They teach the details and use social media to get that word out
and try to get people to come to their web site to learn these moves and the
technique that are required to become great at there sport.

| USA Wrestling "Keep Wrestling in the Olympics" |
USA Wrestling uses the social media for awareness of
wrestling in general and to help assure that the sport is around for our children’s
children. If you follow the Olympics you
may have heard that they were talking about getting rid of wrestling, the
oldest sport of all time. Because of the
social media that was used by many different programs out there the
International Olympic Committee voted wrestling back into there system.
